Operation

How to Mount your ATN Thor 4 Scope

Mounting your scope

This ATN ThOR 4 has a 3.5-inch eye relief meaning it can be moun­ted using 30 mm mounting rings. The scope comes with 2 standard rings and 1 L shape ring. The L shape ring is used for situations when extra eye relief is needed in certain guns.

To mount the scope do the following

  1. Take your rings, position and mount the bottom portions of the rings to the rail for optimal eye relief.
  2. Place the scope on the bottom half of the rings and verify if the eye relief is sufficient
  3. Place the top portion of your ring over the mounted bottom portion
  4. Confirm and make sure that the holes align and the screws are turning easily
  5. Use equal torque on all screws using the Allen wrench
  6. Make sure your rings are tight on your rifles rail to prevent them coming out during recoil

If you are mounting the ATN ThOR 4 on the Picatinny rail:

  1. Have the fixing screws loosened on the sides of the mounting rings.
  2. Place the scope on the rail so that the projection of the rail enters the recess in the rail.
  3. Tighten the fixing screws of the mounting rings.

How to Charge your ATN Thor 4

The recommended charger is a 2A USB charger. It takes up to 6 hrs to charge from 0 to 100% full charge. A full charge will last 16+ hours of continuous use.
The scope has a (type C) USB port. The port is under the rubber cap on the right side of the scope. You also get a type c charging cable.

How to Insert or Remove a Memory Card

Insert

Before inserting a new microSD card make sure to format it. Insert the card and use a thin object to lock the card in place and then return the cover.

Remove

Removing the microSD Card from the port requires you to push the card softly with the thin object. The card will pop up allowing you to pull it using your fingers or tweezers.

How to turn  ON / OFF

To TURN ON the scope press and hold the POWER button until you see the ATN splash screen. To TURN OFF press and hold the POWER button,  “Shut down the device?” appears. then “Yes” to turn off.

How to Reboot Your ATN Thor 4

If the scope freezes or the control panel stops responding. Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds. This will reboot the scope.

How to use the Keypad and Scroll Wheel

  • The short and Quick taps are used to get around most functions
  • The Press and Hold are used for  ON/OFF and SHORTCUT MENU
  • The Power and Function buttons can be used as Up and Down buttons.
  • The Scroll Wheel is used to magnify the target on the Home Screen or when zeroing

How to Focus on the ATN Thor 4

DIOPTER ADJUSTMENT is done by rotating the Diopter adjustment ring to achieve maximum sharpness for vision
DISTANCE FOCUS is done by rotating the  Adjustment Ring for the achievement of focus on different distance ranges

How to Calibrate the Compass

If you need to calibrate the compass check for “CAL” on the Compass Scale. To calibrate rotate the device on three-axis rotation. After calibration, the compass will only work when the scope is held parallel to the ground.

ThOR 4 has 2 modes of ope­ration: basic and advanced.

Basic: Advanced Shortcut, Zero Reticle, Contrast, and System Settings

Advanced: WiFI, Exit, Zero Reticle, Contrast Rangefinder, Advanced Shortcut, Environment, Distance Entry, NUC, Ballistic Calculator, and Gallery

How to Zero the ATN Thor 4 Scope

Before zeroing your scope, make sure that you have chosen the correct lens type. This is done by going to the System Settings and checking the subcategory Device Type and then selecting the lens type of your scope.
To Zero in your Thor Scope: Go to the Profile/Zero section of the System Settings, or choose it from the Shortcut Carousel.

  • Go to Shortcut Carousel with OK button  center
  • Choose  the wrench icon with RIGHT or LEFT buttons  right-left
  •  Choose Zero Reticle shortcut from the Shortcut Carousel.
  • Press OK button  center
  • Before starting the Zeroing process use an existing profile or create a new one

  • Choose Other on the subcategories to create a new one
  • Press the OK button center to load it.

  • System Settings, Choose the Profiles/Zero Tab.
  • Select Current center by  pressing ok
  • You will see Zero Reticle.

  •  Zero the Reticle by Pressing the OK button center to select Zero Reticle.
  • You see a cross-hair reticle
  • Fire a round with the gun as steady as possible
  • Use the keypad and scroll wheel to move the Red cross-hair to the point of impact.
  • After placing the Red crosshair on the POI, press OK button center.
  • A dialogue box appears with options. Select Save & Exit.

How to Connect the ATN Thor to Your Mobile Phone

Use the ATN Obsidian 4 app. Connect your device with the scope via WiFi and you will be able to see on your phone what is shown in your optic’s viewfinder. The App can be downloaded on the iOS store or Google Play store.

To see what you have recorded, open up the Gallery and playback your latest adventures.

Warnings and cautions

  • Always turn off the device when not in use
  • Avoid activities such as disassembly, microwave, shredding, opening and insertion of objects which can void your warranty.
  • Keep the scope in the provided protective cover
  • Avoid gas, dust, and steam
  • Natural rubber latex may cause allergic reactions
