How to Connect the Battery
Connecting the battery requires that first, you are behind the machine, the toggle switch should be OFF and safe. Connect the red cable to the positive terminal and black cable to the negative terminal. Disconnect the battery charger
How to Fit the Cocking Spring
- Make sure the throwing arm points forward
- Using your hand rotate the arm counter-clockwise and pull against the motor or jog the arm around using the motor
- While doing this make sure you are behind the trap
- To do this first ensure you are behind the trap
- Connect the battery
- Jog the motor around by lifting the toggle switch momentarily to make the arm straight
- Make sure the main shaft connector faces the rear of the machine during this operation and never place your hands into the trap
How to Disarm
To disarm the strap you need to push the toggle switch upwards, holding it long enough for the trap to fire, and then release it before the trap rearms. You can now disconnect the battery.
Loading and Firing a Promatic Pigeon Clay Target Thrower
- Disarm the trap first
- Make sure the arm is at the 3 o’clock position
- Push the throwing arm counterclockwise to close the irises or to make sure the drive pin touch the drive arm
- Load the clays on the hopper
- Switch the toggle switch ON
- Depress the footswitch to throw
- The trap rearms automatically after each throw
Promatic Clay Pigeon Thrower Elevation
On each side of the trap, there are 2 bolts. have all 4 bolts loosened and move the trap to your desired elevation. Retighten the bolts firmly. When adjusting the elevation angle make sure to support the weight of the trap from the top of the hopper.
Spring Tension Adjustment
To Decrease tension, you need to turn the handwheel counter-clockwise, this will loosen the spring to your desired position. Reduced tension reduces the trap’s range
To increase the tension, you need to turn the handwheel clockwise, this increases the spring tension and in turn, increases the trap’s range
Promatic Clay Pigeon Thrower TroubleShooting
- If the clay flicks up in the air, the arm may be bent, casting bent up or there may be clay being squeezed between them if this happens
the arm or plate should be straightened and if you still experience the problem, it should be replaced - If the clay goes no distance even with increased tension, the arm might be bent upwards, it needs some straightening
- If the clays are inconsistent in direction, the problem is either a bent arm, tip bent up or the clays vary in thickness. The solution is to make sure the bent arm is straightened, for clay thickness adjust the casting plate to accommodate the thickness of the clay
- If the trap is breaking clays, check if the clays are intact, if there are some you need to remove them and just have the intact ones.
drops onto the throwing plate in tact.
Electrical TroubleShooting
- If the trap does not cock, check if the battery is charged and if all the wiring is done right. Ensure the toggle switch is in the load position. If the motor does not turn, have a look at the fuses in the electrical box.
- If the trap runs in the ‘DISARM’ position and not in the ‘ON’ position. Check if the toggle switch is faulty
- If the trap cocks but does not fire while on the command button or footswitch will not fire on the command cable button or footswitch. Most likely the connections, command push, or cable are faulty. Disconnect the com-mand cable and short the 2 outer sockets.if it doesn’t work change the wiring room or have it repaired.
- If the trap fires by itself, Disconnect the command cable and switch the trap back on. if after doing this the trap cocks and doesn’t fire, then the command cable or switch is faulty. If the trap fires by itself the Roller switch is faulty and should be replaced
